Dodge Collision Repair in Austin & Round Rock
Luxury Auto Body holds a Dodge collision certification in writing — from muscle cars to family haulers, repaired to the manufacturer's published standard.
Certified in writing for Dodge collision repair — at both our Austin and Round Rock shops.
What the Dodge certification means
Dodge grants this certification against its own repair procedures, and we hold it in writing alongside our certifications for Jeep and Fiat.
A high-output Dodge puts loads through the structure that an ordinary sedan never sees, and the panel gaps and paint on a performance car are looked at closely by the people who own them. We repair to procedure and finish to the car's own factory tolerances — and we will tell you plainly when a part is better replaced than repaired.
Every repair carries our Lifetime Written Warranty, and we are a State Farm Select Service shop that works with all major carriers. Estimates are free, and there is no obligation.
Charger, Challenger, Durango — one brand, three problems
Dodge's current lineup is small but not uniform. The Charger and Challenger are large unibody performance cars, the Durango is a three-row unibody SUV, and the older Journey and Grand Caravan are different again. They share a manufacturer and very little else, so the first thing that happens at the estimate is establishing exactly which vehicle, model year and trim is in front of us and pulling the repair procedure Dodge publishes for it.
That matters most on the structure. Modern unibodies mix ordinary steel with high-strength and ultra-high-strength grades in the same shell, and those grades are not interchangeable — some can be straightened and some must be sectioned or replaced outright, because heating or pulling them destroys the property that made the manufacturer specify them. Guessing produces a car that looks correct and behaves wrong in the next impact.
Performance cars are judged on the paint
Dodge has sold a long run of distinctive colors, and several of them are multi-stage finishes where the color, a mid-coat and the clear all have to be laid down in the right order for the panel to match in daylight. A paint code alone will not get you there — the same code varies with age, sun exposure and the plant the car came from.
So we match to your car, not to a chip. We spray out a test card, check it against the actual panel, and blend into adjacent panels rather than stopping at a hard edge that catches the light. On a performance car the owner will notice, and there is no version of this where finding out later is cheaper than getting it right the first time.
What the repair actually involves
Disassembly comes before the final number. Hidden damage on a big unibody car frequently sits behind the bumper cover or inside the quarter, and no honest estimate can see it from the outside — which is why the first figure is an estimate and the supplement to your insurer comes after we have the car apart and photographed.
Driver-assistance sensors are part of collision work now, not an extra. Cameras and radar units mounted behind the windshield, in the grille or in the bumpers have to be recalibrated after the parts around them are disturbed, or the systems read the road from the wrong reference point. We do the bodywork and the recalibration rather than sending you elsewhere to finish the job.
