Which insurers we work with

We work with all major insurance carriers. With the four below we hold a direct repair relationship, which usually means a faster, pre-approved claim.

Insured by someone not on this list? That is normal, and it is not a problem — we work with all major carriers. Whoever you are with, the choice of shop is yours under Texas law.

Direct repair relationships

With these four, the claim runs through a relationship that already exists — which usually means faster approval and less back-and-forth before anyone touches your car. Each has a page explaining exactly what that changes for you.

If you're here because an adjuster just told you to take your car to "one of their shops," take a breath. In Texas, the choice of repair shop is yours — by law. Your insurance company can recommend a shop from its network. It cannot require you to use one, and it cannot pressure you away from the shop you've chosen.

We wrote this page for the person sitting in a parking lot with a crumpled fender and a phone full of missed calls, trying to figure out what they're actually allowed to do. The short version: pick the shop you trust, tell your insurer that's where the car is going, and let the shop work directly with the carrier from there. Luxury Auto Body is an all-makes collision repair shop with two locations — 8300 N Lamar Blvd, Suite B102 in Austin and 1001 Louis Henna Blvd in Round Rock. We're a formal State Farm Select Service shop, we work with all major insurance carriers, and we bill your insurer directly — in most cases you pay only your deductible, when you pick up the finished car.

What follows is the plain-English version of how claims really work: your right to choose, what steering sounds like, who pays the deductible and when, why estimates change, and what happens if the car is a total loss. If you'd rather talk to a person, call (512) 986-7327 for Austin or (512) 572-5245 for Round Rock, Monday through Friday.

Your Right to Choose Your Shop in Texas

Under Texas law, you — not your insurance company — decide where your vehicle is repaired. Insurers may maintain networks of preferred shops and may suggest one, but the final call is yours, and your coverage does not change based on that choice. Your claim is paid according to your policy, not according to which shop does the work. A shop outside your insurer's network is paid the same way, and we negotiate the repair cost directly with your insurer just as a network shop would.

"Steering" is the industry term for an insurer pressuring you toward its own network anyway — and it's prohibited in Texas. It rarely sounds like pressure. It sounds like helpful concern:

If any of that is happening to you, you don't have to argue with the adjuster yourself. Tell them the car is going to Luxury Auto Body, then call us — (512) 986-7327 in Austin, (512) 572-5245 in Round Rock. We'll explain your rights and deal with the adjuster directly.

  • "We can't guarantee the work if you go somewhere else." The insurer never guarantees the work — the shop does. Every repair we deliver carries our Lifetime Written Warranty.
  • "It could take a lot longer to get an adjuster out there." Implying your timeline suffers if you don't comply.
  • "Your coverage works better at one of our shops." Your coverage is set by your policy, not by the shop you choose.

State Farm Select Service — and Every Other Major Carrier

A Direct Repair Program, or DRP, is a pre-approved relationship between a body shop and an insurance carrier. The carrier has already vetted the shop, so estimates and repair approvals move through a faster, pre-approved process instead of waiting on a field adjuster at every step. Luxury Auto Body is a formal State Farm Select Service shop — State Farm's direct repair program. For State Farm customers, that means your claim moves from estimate to approved repair with far less back-and-forth.

You don't need State Farm to choose us. We work with all major insurance carriers, and the working relationship is the same regardless of the name on your policy: we document the damage, work directly with your insurer on the estimate, and bill the carrier directly so the paperwork stays between us and them. Whoever insures you, your part stays simple — drop off the car, stay reachable, pick it up when it's done.

Deductibles: Who Pays What, and When

Your deductible is the fixed amount you agreed to pay toward a covered claim when you bought your policy; your insurer pays the rest. You pay it once, to the shop, when you pick up your repaired vehicle — not up front, and not to the insurance company. Before any work begins, we confirm your exact out-of-pocket amount, so there's nothing to puzzle out on pickup day.

If the other driver was at fault, the math usually shifts in your favor: their insurer typically pays for the repair, and you usually owe no deductible at all. Whichever carrier ends up paying, our part of the claim works the same way — we record the damage clearly and completely, so your claim file reflects what actually happened.

One caution while you're comparing shops: if anyone offers to "waive" or absorb your deductible to win your business, walk away. In Texas, that's treated as insurance fraud — and it tells you everything about how that shop handles the rest of the paperwork. We document real damage and bill it the right way.

Supplements: Why the Number Can Change After Work Begins

Collision damage hides. Bumper covers, panels, and trim conceal bent brackets, kinked metal, and damaged sensors that no estimator can see until the vehicle is disassembled. When we find damage beyond the original estimate, the additional repair gets approved through what's called a supplement.

Here's how we run them: we photograph the hidden damage, document exactly what's needed, and submit the supplement to your insurer for approval before we do the work. The insurer pays for the approved additional repair the same way it paid the original estimate — your deductible stays the amount your policy set; it doesn't grow because a supplement was filed. The honest part: a supplement can extend a repair timeline while approval comes through. When that happens, we tell you the moment it does, not at pickup.

Total Loss, Rental Cars, and Getting Started

A vehicle is "totaled" when the cost to repair it climbs too close to what the vehicle is actually worth — at that point, the insurer pays you the car's value instead of paying for repairs. If you're not sure which side of that line your car falls on, bring it in. We'll give you an honest repair estimate so you can see whether the vehicle is realistically repairable or likely headed for a total loss — and we'll tell you the truth either way, because we'd rather turn down a job than rebuild a car that shouldn't be rebuilt.

On rentals: if your policy includes rental coverage, we coordinate the rental arrangements through your insurance claim, so you're not without transportation while your car is with us. Call the shop your car is going to — (512) 986-7327 in Austin, (512) 572-5245 in Round Rock — before your drop-off and we'll help line it up.

When you're ready to start, call us to request a time — our front desk will confirm it with you — or begin with a free estimate online. Bring your insurance claim number if you have one; if you don't have one yet, that's fine. We'll inspect the damage, document it for your insurer, and walk you through the next steps.
