Do you repair Silverado trucks as well as Equinox and Traverse crossovers?

Yes, and they are different repairs. The Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban are body-on-frame; the Equinox, Traverse and Blazer are unibody. GM publishes separate repair procedures for them, so we confirm the exact model, year and trim before quoting.

Why does my Chevrolet estimate need a supplement?

Because on a truck especially, the damage is rarely all visible. A hit that looks like bumper and fender work often moved a frame rail, bed mount or radiator support behind it. We disassemble, photograph what is actually there, and file the supplement with your insurer from that evidence.

What does GM Certified actually mean?

GM grants the certification against its own published repair standards, audits against them, and can withdraw it. It commits us to repairing your vehicle the way GM specifies for that model and year, rather than to a generic body-shop process.

What the Chevrolet certification means

Chevrolet is covered by our GM collision certification, held in writing. A manufacturer certification is not a plaque a shop awards itself: it is a standing commitment to repair vehicles the way the company that engineered them says they must be repaired, and GM grants it, audits it, and can withdraw it.

Our GM certification covers Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Buick and Corvette as one standard — so a Chevrolet is not an exception here, it is squarely inside what we are certified to repair.

Chevrolet's lineup runs from body-on-frame trucks to unibody crossovers and sports cars, and they do not repair the same way. The metal under the paint decides how the car absorbs the next impact and how the airbags time their deployment, so we work from the published repair procedure for your specific model and year rather than treating every panel as the same kind of steel.

One badge, four completely different vehicles

Chevrolet sells more distinct kinds of vehicle than almost any other brand here. The Silverado is body-on-frame. The Tahoe and Suburban are body-on-frame. The Equinox, Traverse and Blazer are unibody crossovers, where the panels and the structure are the same thing. The Camaro is different again. They do not measure the same, they do not fail the same in a collision, and GM publishes separate repair procedures for them.

So the first thing that happens is not an estimate. It is establishing exactly which vehicle, model year and trim is in front of us, and pulling GM's published procedure for it. A shop that runs one process across a Silverado and an Equinox is guessing on at least one of them.

Truck damage is rarely where it looks

On a full-size truck, a hit that presents as bumper and fender work regularly moves a frame rail, a bed mount or a radiator support behind it. The visible damage understates the job often enough that we treat the estimate as a starting figure and the supplement as the real one.

That is also why we measure before quoting anything structural. Modern trucks combine ordinary steel with high-strength and ultra-high-strength grades in the same vehicle, and those grades have different published methods — some can be straightened, some must be sectioned or replaced, because heating or pulling them destroys the property GM specified them for.
